Two Pregnant Mamas Get-Togethers
Just thought I would plug two get-togethers this week for pregnant mamas:

Heather and Snow are planning to make it Monday and would welcome any other mamas or esp. mamas-to-be to join us. Look for a girl with a brown ponytail and a red jacket and a girl with short blond hair and a visible belly. :)
2. Portland Mamas Inc. Pregnancy Group Get-Together
Tuesday, October 24th

All pregnant mamas and mamas-to-be are invited to come and share experiences and concerns, get advice from the group, vent and commiserate together and just enjoy going through pregnancy together. Little ones are invited to come as well. Look for the short Asian woman eating everything in sight, accompanied by a very clingy two-year-old boy. :)
Just to clarify, I'm short, not necessarily my hair :)

Thanks Mamas-to-be for coming out to say hello! It was great to hang out with Heather on Monday (she's totally calm and has vegan family life down to a science and even with two small kids and another one on they way, she gets out all over town - bravo!).
It was even more fun to meet Heather's adorable little boy along with the other hip, happy expecting mom's who made it to PB & Ellies on Tuesday...Charie and Marlynn also came with their equally squeezeable little boys in tow...these guys are gonna be heartbreakers!
It's SO encouraging to see mom's with small kids who look like they are really enjoying being parents (and their kids are charming and well-behaved even in a restaurant!).
For me personally, it was wonderful to meet two other women who are experiencing their first pregnancy...it really made it seem more real for me and I came home feeling very proud of my body for making it this far and excited for what lies ahead...even if that includes buying some maternity jeans!

I look forward to seeing you guys again soon and I encourage anyone who is thinking about meeting some other mamas to hand off dog-walking or dinner-making duty to your husband/partner/or neighbor (!) and come out for some mama time.
Jillian & SG - There were at least three of us from N/NE who are keen on meeting on this side of town and I think Marlyn is supportive of making that happen soon. Feel free to email her with a suggested time/place or just post a time and date and your favorite coffee/tea spot and I'm sure some other mamas would try to meet you...I will!

I just stumled upon this website and it sounds like a great resource. Looks like I missed the mamas to be get together. Please let me know when you schedule another one. I am pregnant with my first and would love to talk with other women in my situation.
