Free kid movies at Lloyd Mall this summer

Every summer, Regal Cinemas puts on a Free Family Film Festival: every Tuesday and Wednesday morning at 10AM, local Regal theaters show a free G or PG movie. In Portland, that means the theater in lovely Lloyd Mall. So brave the food court and come on down...first come, first served. I'll be at Curious George tomorrow with my kids!

Thanks for the info Asha.

How early would you (or anyone one else out there who has attended) recommend showing up to get in line for a seat?

It is worth a shot for spontaneous (i.e. deciding at the last minute) people like us or are folks camping out from early in the AM?

Just wondering...

Well, I just got home from the movie...I hope you came! I got there with my kids at 9:55am and there were plenty of seats. What a nice feeling to just walk straight into the theater.

I took the kids today to see Curious George. I found easy parking in the garage, and the theatre wasn't crowded at all either, so it was a pleasant morning outing for us all.

After the movie was done, we strolled around the mall for an hour to do some window shopping.

I'm going to take a look at the list of other movies and see if there are any others that we could squeeze into our summer schedule.

Thanks for the response!

I wish I'd know sooner - I would have taken the kids straight there after swimming lessons this morning. Thanks for the info.

For the boonie mamas, there are free shows at the theaters in Hillsboro, Oregon City, Tigard, and Gresham too. Click on the link in the original posting and you can search by state for participating theaters.

I love it Blair, boonie mamas.. bM. Yes, there a bunch of west- side theaters offering this same program.

I am kind of nervous about taking crazy 2.5 year old La La to a movie, has anyone taken little ones successfully?

The time I went there were a ton of kids there that looked like they were the same age as your child. And, there was a lot of child chatter that could be heard during the movie, but I think most parents expected to hear that, so it was okay.

Thanks for posting this! I was looking for the sked.
