Looking for a part-time nanny (25-30 hours per week) to start July 8. We have three kids (ages 3, 7, and nearly 10), but the position will mainly involve watching our youngest (the 3 year old) starting in the fall. The schedule would be as follows:
- Summer (July, August and first half of September). M-F, 9am-3pm (though we do have some flexibility with hours) and would involve watching all three kids, helping with swim lessons (last two weeks of August), preparing lunch and snacks, taking them on outings, and just generally keeping them active and having fun.
- Fall. Once school resumes for the two oldest (early September) the position would primarily involve watching the youngest during the day, and picking up the two oldest from school at 2:15 (across the street). And once preschool starts for our youngest (TuTh 9-11:30 or 1), the hours would change to MWF 9-3 and TuTh 11:15ish-3 or 12:45ish-4 (TBD).
The kids are very creative and active – they love playing make-believe, art projects, adventures, and anything else that keeps them busy. We live near many great activities (Wallace Park across the street, and NW library and Forest Park trails a few blocks away) and have easy access to public transportation (streetcar, MAX and bus). We have membership to Children’s Museum and OMSI, and you are welcome/encouraged to come up with other fun adventures. My husband and I both work from home offices, so being able to keep the kids busy is key.
We are looking for someone with experience with a wide age range. Someone who is active themselves, has limitless energy to chase a toddler, while at the same time being able to engage school-aged kids. Previous nannying experience a must. Non-smokers preferred.
If interested, we would love to hear from you. Please include in your description, where you live in the Portland area, whether you drive and are you comfortable driving a child(ren) around, the typical rate you charge (note that we do taxes, withholdings, etc.), and finally, what you envision the term of the position to be (short- or long-term). Thanks, Emily (firstname.lastname@example.org)
