I recently confessed to being the type to never mail my ballot because I always vote at the very, very last minute and have to drop it off at the nearest library at 7:55 PM on election day. I never realized until this year's Voter 49er campaign that if you vote early you get off the call lists - reducing those annoying dinner-time calls and saving the campaigns money. So I did it. I mailed my ballot on the same day I got it. Just wish I could sport one of those "I voted" stickers, I like those.
True, there were only three boxes to check, and I'll confess to being surprised that there weren't just two (oops). But, a quick check in with the Willy Week's election coverage allowed me to digest the surpirse issue and make as informed a decision as I was gonna make on that one. And not only did I mail my ballot, I caaned my husband into voting the same day, too. Which required me to explain the surprise issue (more police & fire bennies), put a stamp on the envelope and provide a pen. Oh, and mail it, too - natch. Same process to get him to sign my legislative letters. Whatever it takes, mamas.
